It's 2am on May 25th, 2020. You're sitting on the edge of your bed in your underwear, you haven't left the house in weeks. The lack of human contact has left you feeling restless and destructive. Everything is numbingly boring yet unfamiliar at the same time. It storms. You hear thunder, the most exciting bit of chaos you've had in who knows how long? You want to go outside, the thought of getting struck excites you, but not enough. You try to go to bed, eyes closed but completely awake for the next hour. You decide it's pointless to continue lying there but your body has already decided you can no longer move. Glued to your mattress, you manage to still open your eyes as every shadow in your room becomes unrecognizable, and one shadow more animated than all the others. Your brain struggles to reason as the figure slowly moves toward you and facial features shift in the dark. You want to scream but your body is completely paralyzed. You question your mortality as the creature sits atop your chest with heavy pressure... until you hear a soft melodic whisper.
